No. It’s not Christmas yet, but tomorrow is the first day of NaNoWriMo Month.
NaMoWriWhat you ask?
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, which is the month of November. It’s also a contest where writers try to write 50,000 words of a novel by the end of the month. It’s all first-draft style of writing. Just get the bare bones down; you can edit later.
What: NaNoWriMo
Where: Wherever
When: November 1-30
How: Write a novel of at least 50,000 words by the end of November
Why: Well, perhaps you’ve gone completely insane like Karen from ModernDayStoryteller. Many thanks to her for joining me in the NaNoWriMo craziness!
This is my first year participating, and I’m finally starting to get a bit nervous and excited. Wish me luck! If you want to be my buddy, I’m listed as WinterWrite.
This is what I’m going to look like this month. Well, except that I’m a girl, and I’m much cuter than Jerry Lewis—at least I like to think so. And I’ll be using my laptop instead of an air typewriter.
Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo? What did you like or not like about it? Do you have any tips or helpful ideas for a newbie?
Happy Writing
